In August this year (2025), Glock discontinued the COA models to the civilian market. This was a bit of a surprise since they had just released the COA pistols after Shot Show in January. Now Glock announced another huge wave of discontinued models. I’ve run a number of Glock pistols over the years. Glock 19, […]
From North Philadelphia comes a story that a 19-year-old was pistol-whipping a 21-year-old because the younger man was upset over a loud argument near his apartment. A 36-year-old man (who apparently was involved in the original “loud argument”) retrieved his pistol and hot the 19-year-old 7 times. The 19-year-old is in the hospital in critical […]
Colossians 1:3: We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, I pray daily for family, employees, customers. I pray for health, wisdom, favor, revival. I pray for leaders, church, community, and nation. However, this verse drives home that I also need to pray for my fellow […]
From Grover NC, comes a story where someone was apparently burglarizing a home, looking for firearms. A neighbor caught the man in the act, and heard gunshots. He fired his own shots at the burglar, apparently fearing for his life. This occurred at almost 11pm. Investigators said no one is believed to have been shot, […]
I’ve been noticing revolvers a little more lately. I find them extremely easy to carry and conceal in the right holster. Plus they can be very effective at contact range. As a result, the S&W Model 19 Carry Comp article in American Rifleman drew my interest. Smith & Wesson’s K-Frame revolver is larger than the […]
Micro-compact pistols can be snappy, which may not work for shooters with less hand strength. This is why many manufacturers have provided pistols in 9x18mm, also known as .380 or 380ACP. The case has reduced space for powder, and often shoots a lighter projectile, both of which contribute to less recoil impulse, reduced spring pressures, […]
“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Many have returned to church in the wake of recent events. My encouragement […]
Staccato announced their HD C3.6 this week. I think I would call this the “Glock 19 of the Staccato HD lineup” with its 15-round capacity. Obviously, the 3.6 is in addition to the P4 and the P4.5 versions, which both have 18 round capacity and barrel lengths of 4″ and 4.5″ (respectively). We are currently […]
From news reports here and here, it seems a number of people were under a carport playing cards near Midnight when Kailan Sanders came up, immediately shot one man, and demanded the property of those playing cards. Sanders was reportedly armed with an AK-47. However, this is extremely unlikely — read this article for a […]
Bodycam footage shows a 15-year-old ambushing a police officer by shooting him in the chest. The officer drops the flashlight, runs for concealment, then returns fire. Thankfully, the officer retained his pistol after being shot, even though he dropped the flashlight. Thankfully, the body armor protected him. I cannot tell if the officer had a […]
