The TLR-1 Outlier, Rebuilt: Bisect and Cut-to-Length M7

Bisect Outlier holster for the Streamlight TLR-1 with a range of pistols

The TLR-1 Outlier has been one of our best-selling Outliers. It was a single fixed-size holster built around the light, not the pistol. In October we quietly rebuilt it, and it’s worth telling you what changed. (The X300 and Olight versions got the same treatment; here’s that post.)

What changed

The old M6 and M7 TLR-1 Outliers came in one size. The new ones are cut to length: up to 4.6″, 4.6″ to 5.0″, and over 5.0″. If your pistol is 4.875″, you step up to the 5.0″ cut. The longest cut covers muzzles up to 5.4″; anything longer fits the same cut and simply extends past the holster. Together they fit well over a hundred pistol models from 18 makers; the product page lists every one with its cut length.

The Bisect replaces the M6. It has a soft silicone comfort bump, steel belt clips adjustable for ride height and cant, and a configurable claw. Its attached mag carrier is far better than the old Radius: the magazine adjusts independently of the pistol in height, cant and distance, cant and distance change in seconds without pulling hardware, the reload “twist” was developed with feedback from Nick Young of Velox Training Group, and it comes off without tools.

The M7 is cut to length now too, in the same three cuts as the Bisect, so it covers your slide without extra bulk. It’s also a new shell: it takes Blade-Tech attachments including the Tek-Mount, uses a single retention screw, and carries the fitment tweaks we worked out building the Bisects.

Both fit the Streamlight TLR-1, TLR-1 HL, TLR-1 HP and TLR-1S. The Bisect starts at $105 and the M7 at $85, in right or left hand. If you’re running a thumb rest, we have options for you as well: a thumb-rest version, right hand only. Running the newer TLR-1 HL-X or HP-X instead? Those have their own Bisect Outlier.

If you own the old one, consider upgrading, especially if your pistol is longer or shorter than that holster.

Which TLR-1

In the Light Lab Comparator, the TLR-1 HL measured 1,112 lumens and 13,740 candela, a flood. The TLR-1 HP measured 997 lumens but 57,660 candela, more than four times the HL’s, so it’s the thrower of the family. For a benchmark, the TLR-7 HL-X measured 1,103 lumens and about 19,200 candela.

Need the light too? We stock the Streamlight TLR-1 HP, so you can order the light and the holster together. We also offer a discount when a light and holster are purchased together.

Not sure which holster fits? Use the holster finder on the Werkz.com home page: pick your pistol, then Streamlight and your light.
