The Outlier is our holster built around the light instead of the pistol. It’s precisely fit to the light, with generous clearance around the slide and frame, so one holster fits about 150 pistol models from 18 makers when you order the right cut length. It’s aimed at the less-common pistols, the outliers, that don’t always get a holster of their own. We started the Outlier line with the Streamlight TLR-1 and SureFire X300 families, and later added the Holosun P.ID, which has been a consistent seller.

What changed
Our old Outliers for the SureFire X300 family and Olight’s full-size lights were M6 and M7 holsters in one fixed size with no length choice. You could snap a Radius mag carrier onto the M6, and that was about the extent of the adjustment. We’ve retired them.
The Bisect Outlier replaces the M6. It has a soft silicone comfort bump instead of hard plastic, steel belt clips you can adjust for ride height and cant, and a configurable claw. The optional attached mag carrier is a different animal from the old Radius: the magazine’s position adjusts independently of the pistol in height, cant and distance, and cant and distance change in seconds without pulling any hardware. It has a “twist” for reload ergonomics, developed with feedback from Nick Young of Velox Training Group, and it comes off without special tools when you want a minimalist carry. Retention on both is screwdriver-adjustable.
The M7 Outlier is a new shell too. It’s now cut to length, so it covers your slide without extra bulk, it takes Blade-Tech attachments including the Tek-Mount, it uses a single retention screw for precise adjustment, and it carries all the fitment tweaks we worked out while building the Bisects. Both come in three lengths (pistols up to 4.6″, 4.6″ to 5.0″, and over 5.0″), with the same options on the Bisect and the M7. The longest cut covers muzzles up to 5.4″; anything longer fits the same cut and simply extends past the holster. Like I said back in August: “For pistols shorter than the light, this results in a ‘cut back’ that removes the extra material. For pistols longer than the light, this allows the holster to cover your muzzle to the end.”
Even if you have one of our old M6 or M7 Outliers, you should consider upgrading, especially if your pistol is longer or shorter than that holster.
If you’re running a thumb rest, we have options for you as well: every one of these comes in a thumb-rest version, right hand only.
What’s new
The Streamlight TLR-1 HL-X and TLR-1 HP-X now get their first Outlier: a Bisect Outlier, in standard or thumb rest. It’s right hand and Bisect only for now. If you want a left-hand version or an M7, leave a comment below and let us know.
- SureFire X300, X300 Ultra (A and B) and X300 Turbo (A and B): Bisect | M7
- Olight Full Size, throw lever (Olight BALDR Pro, BALDR Pro R, PL-Pro Valkyrie): Bisect | M7
- Olight Full Size, screw (Olight PL Turbo Valkyrie, PL-3R, PL-3S): Bisect | M7
- Streamlight TLR-1 HL-X and TLR-1 HP-X (new): Bisect
The Bisect starts at $105 and the M7 at $85, in right or left hand. Check the product page for the cut length that matches your pistol.
In the Light Lab Comparator, the TLR-1 HL-X measured 1,655 lumens and 18,440 candela, and the X300 Turbo measured 748 lumens but 61,070 candela, which makes it the thrower of the pair.
Also new this week, in its own post: holsters for the Canik TP9 and Mete with the Olight PL X.
Need the light too? We stock the SureFire X300T-A and X300T-B, and for the new Bisect Outlier, the Streamlight TLR-1 HL-X and TLR-1 HP-X. We also offer a discount when a light and holster are purchased together.
Not sure which holster fits? Use the holster finder on the Werkz.com home page: pick your pistol, then your light.
