Surefire has increased the specs on their XC3 and XC3 Sub lights. Both of the lights now boast the following specs:
Lumens: 1,000
Candela: 13,000
These are respectable outputs for these small lights. By comparison, this matches the TLR-7 HL-X Sub specs (when using a SL-B9 battery), but lags behind the TLR-7 HL-X (–not– Sub) which advertises 1100 lumens and 23,000 candela.
As a side note, while Surefire advertises holster compatibility between their XC3 and “other” lights, that is not true on precision fit holsters such as those built by Werkz. In our experience, the XC3 lights do not properly fit in our holsters for the comparable TLR-7 variants.
