O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
This is no lackluster “give thanks” but rather one that I could envision as shouting from the rooftops! This is the thanks that I should bring my Lord, not as some sort of payment for His great deeds, but as but a small return for his generous gifts.
I need to call upon His name! Call upon the Lord, God, Jesus Christ, Messiah, Savior, Creator, Chief Priest, the Great I Am. It is His strength that gives us power.
I am called to make known His great deeds! This is not only the great deeds He has done in history, but also the great deeds done in my own life. He has blessed me to live in this beautiful rural area of Idaho; I wouldn’t be here if He hadn’t opened up the right doors for us. He has provided fulfilling work until my hands by growing the work we do here. He has allowed me to interact with many of our wonderful customers. I’m blessed to be working with some great guys. I have two children, and two grandchildren. My wife and I are together after 32 years by His grace (alone). Of course it is solely through His grace that I believe in God. All of these things are miraculous great deeds in my life. Plus, I’m in awe of the great number of ways that He has transformed the world through His church. Plus, think through the complexity of a waterfall, or the hairs on the back of your hand; He created all of this!
This is a good reminder to keep praising His wonderful deeds in my life, in the world, and in all of creation!
