In August this year (2025), Glock discontinued the COA models to the civilian market. This was a bit of a surprise since they had just released the COA pistols after Shot Show in January. Now Glock announced another huge wave of discontinued models.
I’ve run a number of Glock pistols over the years. Glock 19, 19x, and even a 34. I carried a “kinda rare” G21 Gen3.5 (original RTF texture) in 45acp. I also ran a G30s for a while. All pistols served me well. I have a fondness for the reliability of the platform.
It seems that Glock is streamlining their offerings, and (presumably) making the pistols ready for modern optic mounting systems. I won’t miss Glock’s MOS system; I wasn’t impressed with the plate system that added thickness and had additional failure points. I similarly was never interested in 45gap or 357sig calibers, so I won’t miss those.
Until I see and shoot the new pistols, I honestly don’t know if my favorite Glock pistols will be missed. Perhaps the new Glocks V Series will be better in every way? Perhaps the rumored Gen6 Glocks will be coming soon as well?
