Streamlight ProTac 2.0 HP & HP-X Announced

Streamlight has announced the latest additions to their upgraded lights.

  • ProTac 2.0 HP with 2,000 lumens and 85,000 candela, USB rechargeable
  • ProTac HP-X with 800 lumens and 105,000 candela, using 2x CR123a batteries
  • ProTac HP-X USB with 800 lumens and 105,000 candela, USB rechargeable

The ProTac 2.0 HP has strong specs, combined with 4 different modes (high / medium / low / strobe), which can be programmed using their “ten-tap” model.

The ProTac HP-X is a little smaller, more of an EDC light. It too provides strong output, with candela numbers that used to require a $300 price tag from other manufacturers. The HP-X also has “ten-tap” programming with the same 4 modes. It’s available in a CR123A version or a USB rechargeable version using Streamlight’s SL-B26 battery. I used to prefer CR123A lights because the batteries are cheap and reliable, but of late I’ve preferred the USB rechargeable versions of both handheld and weapon lights.

These lights are scheduled to be available in August.
