In case you want an optics-ready 1911 with a rail, Springfield thinks they have the pistol for you: the TRP AOS 1911. Available in 45acp and 9mm, these pistols have features that the FBI Hostage Rescue Team wanted 20 years ago, along with Agency’s optic mount system. Oh yeah, 9mm is new to the lineup.
I don’t have one on hand, but I bet they fit great in our selection of light-bearing 1911 / 2011 holsters.
I’ve always liked 1911s, and have carried both 1911s and 2011s.
