In Albany, Georgia, police were called to an apartment at about 2:30am. They found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The occupant stated the man had broken into the apartment while he was sleeping. The occupant investigated and found the burglar, later identified as Tommy Poole, crawling on the floor of the apartment. The occupant held him at gunpoint, and when Poole reached for his gun, the occupant shot him multiple times.
During the investigation, police found that another nearby apartment had been broken into just prior to this one.
