I’ve been anticipating the CD EPL for some time now. Yes, it feels like years. Because it has been years. Given our position in the industry, I consider it a professional duty to obtain a few samples and test them. So way back in on March 1, 2025, I ordered 3 of them at the bargain price of $249 each. Yes, I know Cloud said they would send out samples to holster companies, and I personally talked to Sean about it at Shot 2025. However, I don’t think we got any special treatment and are still waiting in the queue.
Hopefully the light is great. At 52,000 candela and 1,200 lumens, it should be competitive with a lot of the higher end lights. I’m guessing the light is tuned for more flood and less of a hotspot, but the candela claim is still plenty good for defensive use as well. I have yet to see pictures of the lights in the wild posted on Reddit.
As of 11/21/2025, I have yet to receive a shipping notice. We’ll be working on holsters when our samples come in. Plus we’ll be gathering lab results. I’m sure many will be curious if the lights meet their manufacturer ratings on our equipment.
