House Party in Diboll: 1 Dead, 2 Injured

Angelina County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to a house in Diboll, Texas about 2am. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a party had taken place at a residence, and three gunshot victims were found. One victim, a 19-year-old, died from a gunshot wound to the chest. A 17-year-old was shot in the leg and a 15-year-old was shot in the foot; both were transported to area hospitals.

The Sheriff’s department recovered 9mm casings, and witnesses helped identify the suspect. The suspect was tracked to an apartment later that same morning. After entering, deputies found the 21-year-old suspect hiding under a bed. He was arrested.

A search warrant was executed on the apartment. Deputies found a Glock 9mm pistol in a hallway ceiling air vent, and sent the pistol for lab analysis.

Bad stuff really does happen after dark. Parties can get rowdy, and can get more rowdy as the nigh goes on; in this case about 2am. I am also interested that this story had a picture of the pistol recovered, a Gen3 Glock with what appears to be an “off-brand” light/laser combination mounted on the rail. Having some experience with such things, I would guess that the suspect in this case wasn’t using a proper holster because a proper fitting one isn’t easily found. It is also interesting that the 21-year-old chose to mount such a device on his pistol; is it for street cred, intimidation, or some functional reason?
