Streamlight announced the release of their Wedge SL, an “Ultra-Thin Rechargeable EDC Inspection Flashlight.”
The light has a maximum output of 500 lumens and 1,600 candela. However, output isn’t the focus; form factor is. Wedge, or rectangular section, lights are popular these days in large part because they carry so nicely in the pocket. The Wedge SL advances carry-ability by making the light even smaller, and thus more easily carried. To add to the convenience, the light recharges with a USB type C connection.
My personal preference is to have at least 20,000 candela for a defensive handheld light. This light falls far short of that number. However, this light could be convenient for those who simply need an admin light on a regular basis. Retail price is $110.
