I’ve been noticing revolvers a little more lately. I find them extremely easy to carry and conceal in the right holster. Plus they can be very effective at contact range. As a result, the S&W Model 19 Carry Comp article in American Rifleman drew my interest.
Smith & Wesson’s K-Frame revolver is larger than the J-Frames I’ve been handling lately. This could be a good thing, providing a little more mass to absorb 38 or 357 recoil. This particular pistol also features a compensated barrel to further reduce felt recoil. The Model 19 Carry Comp also is finished in an “almost” OD green finish. I would guess that the extra size of the 6-shot revolver would still disappear almost as easily as a J-Frame in the correct holster. I would prefer it were optics-ready to truly bring this pistol into the modern age (especially at the $1299 MSRP), but I suspect there may be aftermarket options.
It’s not a secret that we are working on revolver holsters. Is there significant demand for a holster for this pistol?

I’ve been needing to upgrade my holster for my model 19. Please… make a left handed option.
Great feedback! Thank you. We are making more left handed holsters these days. We are still developing out our soft bumps for left handed options though.
