For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Christianity has such humble beginnings. Christ, the God-man, died on the cross and rose to provide each of us with salvation. His death was humiliating by human standards, and even God forsook Christ for a time. But this resulted in access to our creator, and hope and faith that extends from this world into heaven. Christianity started from humble beginnings, but will grow to fill the earth as the waters fill the sea.
“Not ashamed” indeed; Paul often wrote letters and encouraged others from prison. Early Christians were often martyred. There is little chance I will ever pay that high a price. Perhaps I need to aspire to that level of “not ashamed.”
