44 Magnum versus Home Invasion

A local attorney in an affluent Louisville suburb heard his dogs barking on August 2, and his home alarm sounded. He grabbed his 44 Magnum pistols, and confronted two masked intruders, who had broken through a glass door.

He said to the intruders, “what’s going on” and they turned around and took off. The man said he tried to shoot them but missed.

The man suspects the same group hit two houses in a nearby exclusive neighborhood and got away with over $100,000 of valuables.

I have to wonder if the news report was edited in a way that makes it unclear; I cannot imagine an attorney saying he was trying to shoot fleeing men in the back.

It goes to show that no matter where you live, you can still be a target. I applaud the man for having a pistol at the ready. I hope he also keeps a handheld light in the same drawer for target identification.
