Two men sitting on a park bench may have saved others from getting shot.
An unruly bar patron was kicked out of a sports bar for being intoxicated. After refusing several requests to leave, he was kicked out and police were called. He went to his vehicle, grabbed a gun, and started shooting through the glass into the bar, shooting at least one person inside in the leg.
Two men were on a nearby park bench and intervened. The shooter then pointed his weapon at them, and a gunfight ensued.
The two Samaritans were not hurt, but the intoxicated patron was shot in the chest. They were pointing their guns at the shooter, who was laying in his BMW, until police arrived. Police later commended the men.
I’m sure neither those at the bar, nor the men at the park bench, expected such a tragic night. But that’s why a lot of people choose to be armed.
