It is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves

Bible reading this week brings me to Psalms Chapter 100, with a powerful short 5 verses.

These verses remind me that I should be joyful when I am coming to Him. Yes, I can be sad, angry, or downcast. But in most times I should be joyful. I certainly shouldn’t be “ho-hum” about it.

The verses also remind me that God made us. We didn’t make ourselves. While all creationists believe this, I’m also reminded that what I’m doing in my life is because God has done it for me. I didn’t make myself the man I am today, but God made me. I’m to respond by following His word, which does make me a better man. All this together shows that God made me, both from a creation standpoint, but also very particularly the exact person I am today.

I’m thankful His mercy is everlasting, and his truth endures for all generations. I am blessed by faithful men & women in my lineage, and pray the Lord makes the generations that proceed from me faithful to His truth forever more!
