P7Pro: The H&K P7 is Back!

Yeah, I’m a little behind on this one.

A favorite carry pistol is coming back. The venerable Heckler & Koch P7 is being reborn at P7Pro. The pistols will be available in the M8 (8-round) and M13 (13-round) versions. The pistols have improvements in heat dissipation, are available with a rail, and are available with optic cuts! They also cut the backstrap so your hand can sit higher.

If you’re not familiar with the pistol, check out the background here.

I think the modernizations, including a rail and optic cut, are mandatory in a modern pistol. Though designed in the 70s, this pistol still has a cult following because of its unique squeeze-cocker design.

You can configure and order the P7M8 now, and the P7M13 should start being available in June. Check them out at P7Pro.com.

Let me know in the comments if you would like a holsters (light-bearing or not) for this compact pistol!

Here is a TFBTV spot on these pistols from Shot 2025.

  1. Shan, I’m a long-time owner of the “original” HK P7 PSP pistol. The heel magazine release and lower-capacity magazine makes the pistol slimmer and more concealable than the later M variants. It’s a heavy gun for its size, and I used to CC it in a leather FBI-style pancake holster. I’d very much like to see a modern IWB holster with a hard shell, provided it holds the pistol securely (mine has no rail forward of the trigger).

  2. Jeff, thanks for the feedback! Yes, if we embark on this, I would prefer that it works both with railed and non-railed variants.

  3. For P7Pro Slim M13, I will be looking for holsters for this, for the titanium frame. The owner of P7Pro is considering Holster options, but I don’t know what they are. I can say that most P7 people will want leather and I would prefer polymer of some sort. I would be mounting a Steiner TOR-X (Mantis/Steiner) laser sight with built in Mantis trainer. On the slide I hope to use a Meprolight Bullseye front sight, and maybe a rear ledge type sight, claw style. That means I hope to be able to rack the slide by hooking the front of the rear sight over a straight edge or concave curve atop the outer side of the holster.
I would like to be able to go cavalry style or regular with the pistol optionally canted which means I need left and right side versions of the same holster. I see in addition to discussing a new addition to your holster line, here, you have a number of “Universal” offerings, each of which already fits a number of pistols. Would one of these already work?

  4. Dave, if you’re interested in Werkz providing holsters, please do let P7Pro know! I’ve reached out to them as well.
I’m thinking our Bisect and M7 holsters would be where we start. I would be interested in carrying the P7M13 IWB, and the Bisect provides our best mix of high tech features: removable adjustable bump (additional sizes coming soon), steel clips, available mag carrier, etc. The M7 could be a good OWB option for users.
The P7 platform is very different, so I don’t think our “multi fit” (“Outlier”) holsters would work. If demand is significant, we could offer a light-bearing option or two. Same with left hand options — I need to see the demand. Left-hand holsters typically sell at or below 10% of the right hand volume (similar to population distribution).
    Thanks for the feedback!
