In Madison, Indiana, a homeowner installed additional security cameras after his garage was broken into. However, this didn’t prevent a 4am home invasion the day after Christmas.
Apparently undeterred from security cameras, two men are dead after a home invasion.
Two men were shot and killed during an alleged home invasion in Jefferson County, Indiana, early Thursday morning.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the homeowner called 911 just before 4 a.m., claiming he shot the men after they broke into his home on N. Bulldog Drive in Madison.
AdvertisementDeputies arrived at the house minutes later and found two men dead. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified them as Dalton Keith Skirvin, 27, and Kaleb Adam Skirvin, 29, both from Madison.
Charles Pruitt lives across the street and said this was not the first time someone broke into his neighbor’s property.
“[He] called me a couple nights ago and told me that somebody broke into his garage,” Pruitt explained.
Pruitt believes that incident led the homeowner to install more security cameras, but still, it did not prevent the alleged home invasion and deadly shooting from unfolding the morning after Christmas.
In such a case, I doubt additional lighting would have made a difference either.
